What could be more versatile then a truly neutral gray and white scarf? The subtle shading in this piece is created by first dying the silk solid gray, then folding and clamping the material (this is the traditional Japanese itajame shibori technique), and finally submerging the clamped bundle in a discharge solution to remove the dye.
