Seeds of Change

Catalog number: 2009-0002

Status: Available

DESCRIPTION: “Seeds of change” began as an unnamed yard of art cloth and grew into a meditation about “change” during the 2008 presidential election.

I layered color and different patterns until I arrived at a design problem that I felt I could not resolve without cutting up the cloth and rearranging the pieces. Further printing,

drawing, and dying on the reassembled piece brought the composition to a visual resolution. The texture layer of the quilting finished the piece.
